Community Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatment performed in group setting. Chairs and tables 8 feet away from the other. Masks required. Temperature check will be performed prior to your appointment.


Cupping Treatment

Cupping therapy is used to dispel stagnation—stagnant blood and lymph, thereby improving "chi" flow—to treat internal medical diseases, musculoskeletal pain and boost immune system.

If you don’t feel comfortable coming into a space with other folks, video consults is also an option. Chatting face to face in video will allow tongue diagnosis which is an important tool when using Chinese herbs. Privacy is secured and software is HIPPA compliant. Note: We currently are not able to mail herbal formula to patients. You can either make arrangement to pick up herb in office or order herbal formula online.


Individual Acupuncture

One to One Treatments alone with the acupuncturist in the community room. If you have underlying conditions that cause you to be more vulnerable or are simply not comfortable yet in a room with other folks despite precautions, private appointment is good option.


Private Group

We also offer private group treatments for your own small group. You can come with your family members or friends to get treatments together other than our usual community acupuncture hours.


Chinese Herbal Medicine

Herbal therapy is important in traditional Chinese medicine. You can book this service for Chinese herbal medicine consultation and refill the herbal medicine periodically.

Zhihong Shang is Licensed Acupuncturist in Connecticut and she is nationally board certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is specializes in acupuncture, Chinese herbology, and a variety of other Chinese medical modalities geared towards promoting patients’ optimal physical and emotional health.

Zhihong was born and grew up in China. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Medicine at the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After she came to the United States, she received her Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado. Her training include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, western pathology and pharmacology, oriental physical therapy and nutrition. Her background enables her to tailor Chinese medical wisdom to the needs of American patients.

She founded Clove Tree Community Acupuncture in 2011.
